I was doing ok, but then I had my accident. Still I am soldiering on.
These are the first few flakes, mostly tatted, but one in torchon.
Another torchon flake, but I haven't had tried to continue with it since the accident.
Some point ground which I was trying to learn, with the idea of doing a point ground snowflake...I don't know if that is going to happen!

Beautiful snowflakes ! I can recognize a few of the tatted ones :-)
That's an extremely unfortunate accident you had. Hope it all gets well soon . Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
Do you have a link for the torchon snowflake pattern or book? I am learning bobbin lace and that would be so nice for the ornaments I try to give family each Christmas. I taught myself needle tatting last year and will still work on needle lace this year.
Thank you Muskaan, and your latest tatted snowflake gives me some inspiration!
Joan, the book is an excellent beginner's book called "Lace for Children of all Ages" by Christine Springett. It was published in 1989...I hope you can find it. I bought mine from http://www.roseground.com/...but they don't seem to have a copy today. :(
I pretty much fell out of my chair reading about your accident. I can't believe your choices were to call a taxi or drive yourself! No ambulance service? And I thought there would be a different outcome. I try to be very careful with knives, with 100% focus, but it's very easy for me to be distracted, especially since I dislike being in the kitchen, and I try to get out of there as soon as possible!
I certainly wish you a speedy recovery. You seem to be keeping everything in perspective and your spirits are up. I broke both my wrists while ice skating at age 58 and it took quite a while to get back to normal activities, including tatting. However, I no longer take the complicated motions of wrists for granted!
Thank you for the booklet title. I ordered direct from the author, web site http://www.cdspringett.co.uk/ The listing on Amazon was very expensive so I ordered direct and another booklet also. I want to make ornaments this year!!
Fabulous snowflakes and stunning lace work!!! :)
