I decided to see how it would look if I made three more squares, and it worked quite well...one mistake right at the end where I ran out of thread just on the last corner and then forgot to join the ring. Ends not hidden yet.
The snowflake is from the german book, and was designed to fit around an easter egg, but as soon as I saw it I wanted to do it in blue and yellow, I'm not sure why.

They are both very pretty. You did well! Lately I have been bad about running out of thread at the last. I had to finger tat the ending of a couple of my snowflakes!
Yes, it's all about not wanting to wind on too much and get left with a piece of thread too short to use which must be wasted. I understand that would be especially frustrating with Marilee's beautiful thread!
